Halifax’s Five Fisherman Restaurant & Grill is located in a former mortuary for victims of the Titanic. (How’s that for a check-in on Facebook?) The storied building it also the most haunted in Nova Scotia — just ask the wait staff. And the food is out-of-this-world good. We highly recommend the salmon and lobster-stuffed scallops.

The dim-lit restaurant is undeniably upscale, though — it may be best suited for families with teens. Reservations are a must.

Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 4 to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 4 to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
