This rustic dining gem is teeming with sauvage (wild in French) plates. If your kids are foodies, by all means let them squire them on this beautiful dining journey, but if your kids sniff suspiciously at new-to-them cuisine, cart them along at lunch instead when the prices are easier on the wallet. Both the lunch and dinner menus include lavish appetizers (chef’s assortment of European chesses), salads, and main entrees like Pot au Feu de Poisson aux Fenouilles et Curry (and you get the $32 picture). Elegant desserts include house-made sorbets. The wine list is extensive and special holiday events are standard: Easter Brunch, Valentine’s Dinner, Mothers’ Day Lunch, Thanksgiving Day Lunch, Christmas Eve Dinner and more. Every week the restaurant hosts Tuesday Evening Jazz from 7 to 9 p.m.
Little guys are welcome and the restaurant will whip up penne pasta in a cream sauce with shrimp or chicken for them. No kids’ menu, but high chairs and booster seats are available. Dress is business casual and jackets are not required for men. Reservations strongly recommended, call 337-439-8364.
Open for lunch Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m.
