Mother’s proudly serves the “World’s Best Baked Ham,” but you can’t go wrong with anything on the extensive menu. The New Orleans restaurant is also popular for the Ferdi Special — a Po’Boy with ham, roast beef, dressing and “debris” — all the extra juice and fat.

Breakfast is another favorite, with fluffy, food coma-worthy pancakes, omelets and more.

Mother’s is a cafeteria-style restaurant, so you’ll wait in line to order at a window. Get to the restaurant well before it opens to avoid a long wait. It opens at 7 a.m. daily, closing at 10 p.m.
