The colorful jumble of waterfront Bahamian-style eateries known as Fish Fry opens daily, most of the vendors around 5:30. They sell homemade everything from conch salad to fried chicken and barbecued ribs. It’s the Bahamian precursor to the food truck park craze. Shirley’s, like many of the vendors, excels at Bahamian cuisine and is popular with the locals. The fried lobster comes highly recommended. Live music brightens the Fish Fry scene on weekends.
