Summit House

33914 Crystal Mountain Blvd., WA

The Summit House sits at the top of the Crystal Mountain gondola and is a must visit during the summer (open June to September). Touted as the highest-elevation restaurant in Washington (6,872 feet), Summit House offers magnificent views of Mt. Rainier and the north and south Cascades that are nothing short of stunning on a clear day. Plus the food is worth a stop. Eat inside or outside on the patio (it’s worth waiting for the shade of an umbrella if it’s sunny). The Northwest-themed menu features a variety of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and entrees such as linguini and fish and chips. A kids’ menu is also available. If you’d like to have dinner up here, know that the restaurant closes at 6:30 p.m., and by 4:00 in September. Dinner reservations are available, but lunch is served on a walk-in basis.
