Zingerman’s Delicatessen

22 Detroit St, Corner of Detroit St. and Kingsley, Ann Arbor, 48104-1118, MI

Located in Kerrytown near the weekly farmer’s market and not far from the Hands-On Museum, Zingerman’s Deli is a must-stop lunch spot when in Ann Arbor. The deli is the most well-known of all the Zingerman’s brands in Ann Arbor (like Zingerman’s Roadhouse and many others) and was started as a small deli, serving a few sandwiches and traditional Jewish dishes in 1982.

Today, visitors will often find a line out the door. But don’t let that stop you from ordering. Zingerman’s has perfected the wait time process and offers many free samples along the way. You’ll be eating your giant sandwich in no time!

Zingerman’s Deli serves tons of classic sandwiches such as a Reuben, BBQ chicken sandwich, and a beef brisket. There are also housemade salads and soups and classic Jewish foods like cheese blintz, noodle kugel and latkes. The kids’ menu offers things like grilled cheese, a hummus plate, kid-sized sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly.

When you order, you choose your sandwich, pick your size (note the small is quite large), pick a pickle and add any additional chips, salads or drinks to the order. Then you find a seat, inside or outside, and when your order is ready, it will find you. The deli also serves as a specialty food store and features tons of different types of cheese, breads, bagels, olive oils, teas, baked goods and more.

There is a kids’ play area outside, perfect for toddlers and young kids to enjoy while you eat your lunch.
