Reviews

Excellent

Fantastic hotel. Different from the rest. Staff were extremely helpful especially Akmal, he helped us throughout our stay and went out of his way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. The private beach is beautiful along with the spa and my room; the rainforest junior suite. Can not fault the hotel. Would definitely go there again without thinking twice. The service was out of this world. Any requests made were taken care of really quickly. Hopefully Akmal is able to see this review!

Good with some problems

by Rosamund

I have stayed at the Mandapa Ritz Carlton in Bali before and in comparison, I am disappointed with the Ritz Carlton in Langkawi.

Problems that we encountered:
We had to walk one flight of stairs down to our room. The staff should have checked with us whether this is OK during check in. My knees are weak and I get tired if I have to climb up and downstairs. I was too tired to complain during the first day. On the second day I asked for a change of room and got a new room upstairs. However I discovered that the bathroom door cannot be closed in the new room. I found it too troublesome to report again since I was only going to stay for one more night.

There are very limited choices of restaurants in the resort if you are traveling with kids. I am surprised that my 15 year old son is not allowed in the Horizon restaurant even though he is taller than me. As a result we could only have lunch at Beach Grill and dinner at the Hai Yan restaurant for 2 consecutive nights. I was disappointed that I could not eat at the Horizon restaurant with my son.

Other than the above, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The driver who picked us at the airport was very kind to drive us around to look for a doctor for my son. The staff at the Hai Yan restaurant are also very helpful and friendly. The food at Hai Yan restaurant is good and prices are reasonable. Breakfast at Langkawi Kitchen is good, I asked for extra avocado slices and it came beautifully presented with flowers.

Overall I think the resort is good but at the prices that I am paying it should have been better.
