Don't judge the book by its cover!

During a short visit to Olympic National Park, my husband made a reservation for one night at the Royal Victorian. We found the location without difficulty. The sign on the street had peeling paint...and I was a little concerned. However, I needn't have been!

We were quickly checked in and the young man asked us to let him know if we needed anything. We had a second floor room, just above and to the left of the office. All of the furnishings, except for the upholstered chair, appeared to be new and in great condition. The soft furnishings - curtains, bed spread, pillow covers - were also new, clean, and attractive. The room felt plenty large for the two of us and our luggage, so there was plenty of space to move around.

The bathroom was newly refurbished, with a nice vanity. The tub and toilet were also new and nice. We had plenty of hot water and large, fluffy towels.

There was plenty of parking, and the parking spaces were large enough for our rented minivan.

The outside space appeared to be well cared for. It was tidy and the flower pots were all filled with flowers. There were trashcans around the parking area for disposing of travel detritus. When we were loading our luggage the next morning, it was obvious that the housekeeping staff had been busy. One staff member asked if we were checking out or if we needed our room serviced. We indicated that we were checking out and she responded with, "Thanks for staying; hope you had a good visit."

We had a great visit to Olympic NP and a great night's sleep at the Royal Victorian!

If your chemically/mold sensitive at all, this place will be bad for you

We walked in to two different rooms and both rooms smelled of pinesol and old musty smell. If I can smell it, it is BAD, my sense of smell is not that good. My wife immediately started getting sick. We left and found another hotel. They wouldn't give us a refund even though we didn't stay.
