Absolute dump!

by R A

The single worst experience I have ever had in a hotel.
First of all, they charged me double the published rate, and $36 for parking.
I accept responsibility for the rate, I didn’t have time to look around or book online so shame on me. Just figured booking in person would have achieved a competitive rate.
The blinds in the room didn’t close properly, the ac worked poorly and there are bright lights mounted on the balconies of most rooms that illuminate the room all night long.
The hotel is under renovation for the lobby but they leave the mandatory valet in the front of the building so you get to walk around the side through the rain. The bathroom was decrepid, tiny, and dirty, the room showed signs of a mild facelift.
I could also hear the neighbors tv and conversation like they were in my room.
I expressed all the problems to the staff who smiled and apologized and then informed me about the $36 in parking.
I would sleep in my car before staying here again.

BTW, I was told I had the “Premier Suite”

Value for money

Just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel with my girlfriend and our 2 teenage daughters.
We booked through British airways holidays and had 2 rooms 802 and 708. 1 was larger and was a double with queen beds and a small kitchen area. The other a king. Both had balconies and all rooms overlooking the pool area and the marina.
The rooms were very tired and in need of refurbishment which seems to be ongoing at the hotel. There was construction work going on but this didn’t really affect us. Really very old and stained carpets. However the hotel is a 3 star so we were not expecting a luxury resort.
The staff we found great everyone was friendly and professional. Anastasia on reception was particularly helpful with recommendations for places to visit nearby. The parking here is valet only which seems a bit odd in a 3 star hotel and us expensive. Luckily we had booked when the parking was free and the manager was good enough to honour this.
There is a free buffet breakfast served from 7am . Bagels and excellent muffins and decent coffee. We had 1 dinner at the hotel on the patio and this was very good.
There was live music on 3 evenings which wasn’t bad. All in all we had a good stay and as long as you don’t have high expectations you probably won’t be disappointed.
