Reviews

Mediocre at best - mgmt needs to work on some stuff

by bigfern

I kept a list of things to mention in a review (see below) during my 5-night stay. There are some good and bad points. I did get my rate adjusted for the first night, but didn't request any adjustment for the remaining nights. I was on a business trip, so not out any personal money. I thought the facility could use the money for training, upkeep, etc., but the room was overpriced for the quality I received. I felt maybe their housekeeping staff wasn't experienced, because several of the issues could have been remedied by an experienced hotelier and staff. Maybe artsy types shouldn't try to run a hotel. I give them an "E" for effort, but they still have a long way to go to charge the rates they do. They never failed to fill the parking lot every night, so doing something right.

*********

Check in at 4pm

Motel; an old Knight's Inn; 2nd floor must take stairs; didn't see an elevator anywhere

Lobby was cool/artsy

Mobile home park for seniors on back side of facility; mountain view on the front, which was awesome

Broken bits of concrete on sidewalk and broken concrete walkways make it very difficult to pull roll bags

First room assignment -- 2nd floor room 432: flooding from recent storm just inside door; enough water to need a mop; could be cured with some weather-stripping

Substance that appears to be soda or coffee on wall by trash cans

Moved end table to plug in table light and bug crawled out

Second room assignment -- 2nd floor room 440: room on end of row/ corner where everyone had to pass to get to their room; room next door has broken glass in window; at least I didn't have to worry about someone staying in that room, I hoped anyway

Entrance had flooding, but could clean up with a hand towel; towel was filthy after cleaning the water up; wore shoes in room all week

No bugs, bed bugs or otherwise

Light stains on fitted sheet on one side; slept on the other, clean side

Refrigerator is cold

No desk light

No shear curtains on windows, just blackout shades; so windows are fully open and you're exposed to passersby or you have them drawn and have to turn on lights

No closet or armoire to hang clothes; no cabinets or dresser to put clothes, only cubbies below television

Need to list blow dryer as amenity; didn't know one was available, so I brought mine

Faucet in bathtub very loose

Bottom of bathroom door dirty

Shower curtain smells like mildew & was hung backwards

TV is big and they have DirecTv

Bed/ pillows are very comfortable

Convenient location; close to I25, restaurants, shopping

Not recommended for business travelers; good for families, couples, seniors who don't mind staying on bottom floor or who can traverse stairs

Lobby is great. Rooms are great. Scenery is poor.

The lobby is fantastic for our family full of games and the rooms are simple but relaxing. The beds are great! Our room was overlooking the trailer park in the back. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything.
