Great location, needs updates

by MIADC69

This hotel is showing its age. The downtown Silver Spring location is great and parking is easy. The price is reasonable.
However the hotel overall is rundown. Its a very very loud hotel especially in the middle of the night. It is understaffed, especially the front dest and the restaurant in the hotel. The rooms are large but the amenities in the hotel are very few.

Staff shortage? Sheraton Management Skips Housekeeping

by Akalith

Make a Green Choice" at this Sheraton, and management apparently has an innovative way of compensating for staff shortages: skip housekeeping altogether. Yes, put the white card on your door, expecting that your towels and sheets won't be changed, and, instead, as the front desk confirmed: "When housekeeping sees the white card on the door, they skip the room." The card says you're skipping "Full Housekeeping," but what you get is no housekeeping at all: no trash removed, no counters cleaned, no toiletries refilled, nothing. The room and buffet breakfast is still better than at the Hampton Inn, but the manager here, and the housekeeping manager, need to be re-educated, and fast. And was last night's bartender the breakfast busboy? If so, he's better at being a busboy.
