Only stay during winter

by krissy20

The staff was great, breakfast was a joke and the room was HOT. We were on the 3rd floor. The first room we had, as soon as the air condition was turned on, it would shut off within a few minutes. We turned it on, went to dinner and came back, it was off and hot and muggy in the room. We told the lady at the front desk and she gave us another room at the end of the hall. The same thing happened in there. We decided it had been a long day of driving and we were extremely tired so we went to bed. That night was horrible, we were both burning up. The next day, we told someone at the front desk about it and their response, if it's colder outside than in our room, the a/c won't work. It was 74 in our room and 60 outside and the a/c wouldn't come on. He said, we have no control over that, that's the way they are designed. You have to remember, we were on the 3rd floor, heat rises and the later it got, the hotter it was. The only solutions, leave a window open so you can be killed in the middle of the night, buy a fan which we did and they are lucky I didn't let my husband buy the hideous box fan he wanted and put it in the window, that wouldn't look good to potential travelers passing by. Since we were only there 3 days, I chose to stay because our next hotel was going to be better and I wasn't disappointed there, it was the Royal Sonesta, they actually had a thermostat we controlled. Lastly, the hallway is dark and creepy and VERY unsafe. Anyone could be hiding between the rooms and you wouldn't know it.

A very warm reception at Baton Rouge

The room was large for the three of us and clean and comfortable. We would have liked to have stayed longer but it was a good stop over en route to New Orleans.
Breakfast was included in the tariff and this was very acceptable.
