Just across the street from the South Beach access and its playground, South Beach Place makes a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle around mid-beach. The two-story boutique hotel wraps around the property’s swimming pool in a residential neighborhood.
Rooms are homey and cheerful, with the grounds well-maintained. Each unit has a separate bedroom and full kitchen. Bike use is complimentary, plus you’ll find a guest laundry facility, barbecue area, and shuffleboard court.

This is a small, older hotel with cinder block walls, but it has been completely updated and is super clean and cute and convenient. There is a spacey living area, which includes a kitchenette with everything you could need - fridge, microwave, toaster oven, dishes, ice, etc. The bedroom was big enough with a comfortable king-size bed, and the shower had great water pressure. The decor was very well done - clean and modern but with a colorful retro vibe. We has a slight challenge finding where to check-in as it's a very small office, but once we paid more attention, we found it. The woman who checked us in (owner? no idea) was gracious and helpful. The beach is directly across the street through a public park. You could see the ocean except for the trees and other flora that block the view. This is on a dead-end street so there is no traffic - it's nice and quiet.
The only possible issue was that the wall a/c unit was loud, but in more of a white-noise kind of way so it didn't keep us awake.
You can't find a better value than this, and I highly recommend it if you are in the area.
I knew this would be an ideal stay in Vero Beach from the minute I spoke to Nikki over the phone who handled the reservation. She was polite, kind, and the utmost accommodating. The location of this retro boutique is fabulous. You have the beach, restaurants, and a short bike ride away from other shops, a brewery, and eateries at your fingertips. The room is extremely clean and has a vintage eclectic vibe. The room was quite large and has a refrigerator, utensils, dish ware, and a oven for your in house meals. The decor is 1960/70s nostalgic, the bed was very comfortable, and the chairs on the veranda are a nice touch. The pool is an adequate size for the small hotel and was very relaxing. There are older bikes to use, commentary beach towels, and free parking. They do offer daily maid service, but only upon request and for a fee. I would recommend this place to anyone. This is your quintessential intimate boutique hotel with lots of charm and an amazing staff. We will definitely be back! Enjoy!
