I have been visiting Huntsville for work almost weekly for the last 3 months.
The new AC down the street was sold out, so I decided to try the Springhill Suites.
Upon check in, the front desk staff was very nice... however my visit was marred by issue after issue.
I walked into my 5th floor room and was almost Knocked unconscious by the strongest deodorizer smell I have ever encountered in a hotel room. My eyes and nose started to burn and I had an instant headache. I called down to the front desk and they said they were sold out but would see what they could do to find me a room.
They moved my room to the second floor. The room layout is quite odd and is not a typical suite.
The paper products are very rough and cheap; Like sandpaper. Pillows were cheap and thin with no support.
There was a large gap under the door with allowed lot of light in all night from the hallway.
The air-conditioning and heating system was extremely loud and unreliable; the Wall thermostat did not work. An old timex clock Radio was on the nightstand and it looked like it was 25 years old.
During my second evening, I was trying to relax in my room when 2 groups of young women checked in and had rooms next to me and across the hall... Constant yelling, knocking on doors, and slamming doors,… I am here for a business trip and need to relax. It was like a dorm room…
I called downstairs to make the noise complaint from my cell phone, because there was no telephone in my room.
I told the person at the front desk there was no phone in my room and he said, “We can put one in there if you want.“Why was there no phone in there in the first place??
It then took two hours for the noise of my neighbors to calm down.
I could not wait to check out of this property and will never return again.
Marriott should be ashamed of this property and how it is run.
I stayed at this property Oct 19-20, 2019 Room 209. I was soooo impressed with the room once I opened the door! Furniture up to date, micro/ fridge, desk area, internet TV. Really felt that the room and property was just a great place to chill. Breakfast was std continental. Staff pleasant and accomodating. Kind of isolated just west of dwntn. I would stay here again!!
