Amazing!

by Maritaneli

A lovely place a bit far from everything but that suits us just well. Perfect room, lovely pool. Absolute tranquiluty and peace of the countryside. Amazing beauty in the architecture and the most beautifut bathroom I have ever seen on Bali (and I have seen a few). If you are looking for a place to chill down with no disturbace, this is it!

Not what was promised

The place is very remote which isn't necessarily an issue. The cockroaches living in the bed of the second room in the two villa set up were much more of an issue. The place looks like it was once lovely but is now becoming in a state of disrepair. Its a high price too, for what you get - some nice decor but lots of damp and mould, the food you can order comes from a local (and not great) takeaway.... The two room villa also has the very 'blocked in' pool so its very private but also no view just a wall. Our first night was fine for us, but not for my son who couldn't sleep with the issue he was having in the second room. We didn't realise until the next night when he refused to go back into his room (he is 18 so not a child!). My husband tried but was out in 3 mins recognising the issue and so our second night we all slept in one room, my husband on a sun lounger. We then cancelled the third night and booked somewhere else. MAJOR issues then as despite the travel company we booked with (who were marvellous) having agreed that we could be refunded, the villa staff refused and we wasted 2 distressing hours trying to sort things. The lack of English speaking staff at this point was truly problematic. Would be warned.

On the plus side, the sound of the frogs and birds as dawn breaks was truly beautiful so I would certainly look for somewhere in the area again, but with higher standards of maintenance.
