Fabulous trip to Bora Bora

by Trek72387

It exceeded my expectations which were high! We have been married 36+ years and were a little afraid we would be the only non honeymooners- but we weren’t! Good mix of that and couples and families. Over the water bungalows were wonderful, service- thanks to our butler- Ritchie Chung- was wonderful. Started iff with the fabulous spa- massages. The service by each and every area was outstanding- so friendly and willing to please. The guests were equally as nice. We did excursions- snorkeling with rays and sharks which we highly recommend. Second was Jeep tour, Bloody Marys lunch and jet skis such a fun day! The food at each restaurant was delicious, beach service was great. Just no complaints at all. A big slice of paradise!

Incredible customer service!

We stayed here for four nights on on our honeymoon after our travel agency, Pacific For Less, booked it for us. We had an incredible stay, and I would definitely go back. However, I was left feeling a little disappointed upon arrival since we had just come from the Conrad. Here's why:

The St. Regis looks tired and dated in terms of the rooms, restaurants, and pool area. It's not very chic, bright, or fresh-looking. Our room was big and lovely, but there were stains on our couch, an outdated bathtub, and lots of termites in the bathroom. I realize this is super nit-picky, but I love hotels with good design and aesthetics, so this is important to me.

The lunch food was very average, as was the breakfast buffet. I was really surprised, but we actually had similar or better food at the Hilton Moorea, which is a 4-star property.

Pros:

The lagoonarium is incredible for snorkeling! It rivals the coral gardens you have to take a boat to get to. The beach is also amazing with picture-perfect clear blue water. And the restaurants for dinner are INCREDIBLE. I had the best scallops and best Japanese food of my life here. I also had the best massage of my entire life at the spa.

The best part, though, is the service. It's everything you could ever want. We were treated like royalty at every turn and were surprised with lots of lovely sweet gestures, like boxing up these candies I liked for free! Plus, our elite status was recognized here, which helped us save money.
