This small, eight-room motel is in a quiet location at the base of Rose Mountain. During the summer, you’ll appreciate its proximity to the beach at Pine Hill Lake a mile away, and during the winter, it’s less than 2 miles from the Belleayre Mountain ski area.
The property, built in the late 1960’s, has been recently renovated. Rooms are individually heated and air-conditioned, with a DVD player, free Wi-Fi and free video streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. A bonus is the full kitchen, with refrigerator, microwave, oven and dishes and silverware. Each morning you’ll receive a complimentary continental breakfast basket to enjoy in your room.
There are screened front and back doors in each room. The back door leads to a screened deck, and beyond that is a wooded area with picnic tables and charcoal grills for each room. Guests also have access the new Catskill Recreation Center with an indoor heated pool.

We hike in the Catskills and have stayed in many local places throughout the area. The Starlite has become our 'home away from home" even though it's not always the closest to the trailhead. It's an old 1960's era roadside motel that stands out above all the rest. It is clean, newly redecorated, the owner/manager is friendly and helpful, its set back far enough to be very quiet and is in a scenic location. The rooms contain virtually everything you could want. Lots more than you'll see in anything other than a five star hotel. : Plasma TV with DVD and access to Netflix, Amazon instant Video, HBO, free Wi-Fi, lots of nice fluffy towels plus all needed amenities in the bathroom, a generous in-room continental breakfast, fully stocked kitchen (microwave, stove, toaster, refrig, plates, cups, flatware, etc), kitchen table, lamps all over, silk orchids, large closet, dresser, alarm clock, plenty of hot water, comfortable queen size beds, a/c, quick electric heat with room-to-room controls, back deck, grill, picnic table, a loose leaf notebook with tons of info about the local area, etc. etc. I only wish the cancellation policy was a little more liberal. Sometimes the weather changes at the last minute.

Beautiful view of the mountains. The room was bigger than my Brooklyn apartment! Very comfortable. Nice hikes nearby. There is a kitchen stocked with breakfast stuff. English muffins, my favorite! Wonderful.
