Very close to subway

This is located next to subway station. If you are using subway to go NY or any other area, this is ideal. Also, very easy to travel to JFK by air trains as Jamaica station is few block away. There are some shop around the area which you can buy food and other things also.

Hotel is now mostly a shelter

We stayed at this budget hotel with free parking a few years ago. Great Park Slope neighborhood. Just tried to book and rates are very good, but was unable to secure a room. Clerk said most of the hotel is now a shelter for homeless families. Not sure if this would deter me necessarily, but it's good to know. If you go, perhaps there's a way to make clothing or food donations.
