For families on a budget, the Sylvia Hotel is an excellent choice. Near Stanley Park and overlooking English Bay, the hotel’s many rooms come with kitchen (including stoves and sinks) and a good-sized sitting area, as if you’re in a relative’s apartment.

Charming Hotel on English Bay

We try to visit the Sylvia at least once a year. It is one of the few hotels on English Bay right next to Stanley Park. The hotel has all the charm of being built in 1912 but with all the modern amenities you need. If your lucky to get a room facing beach drive the views are amazing. The beach is right across the street. Some of the rooms have kitchenettes. The Hotel is pet friendly. There is a great restaurant and bar. A wonderful hotel that just adds to a great visit to Vancouver.

We spent two nights here and found the newly renovated room comfortable and cozy. Hotel was under active renos, but crews worked at reasonable times. Parking lot had very tight spaces, even in a small car, but affordable! Wonderful restaurant live music, and steps from the water. Would love to come back!
