The Fontaine has an amazing rooftop pool and restaurant in one of the best locations in Kansas City. Near great shopping at the Country Club plaza, the hotel provides spacious rooms with iPod and iPad docking stations, and is within walking distance to many attractions in Kansas City.

Took a spontaneous trip to KC to celebrate my husband's birthday and stayed at the Fontaine. First time here and just loved it. From the moment you walk in, you are treated like a special guest. Everyone was cheerful and helpful!
The room was quiet and the beds were so comfortable we slept in a little.
The restaurant upstairs is fantastic for dinnner or even a couple cocktails. Again..service was amazing. Spring for the Ice Cream Cookie for dessert!
You can easily walk to/from the Plaza, sidewalks all the way. And, next door are a couple more restaurants if you want to get out and try something different. (JJ's offers a great wine list)
We will definitely be back!
We live here, very close to the Fontaine. We are staying over the weekend, so that our son and his 9 other friends could have our place to stay. We booked the day of checking in. We checked in and they put us in a nice room, but with 2 Double beds, yes double beds, not queen or King as requested at booking. So we walked back down and kindly asked if they had a King available that we had requested that at booking. The agent told us that when you book from a third party like hotels.com , etc, that they assign the room. Okay, good to know, thank you. I can change you to a king however, which we were like , Great! We get to our room, street level off of SW Trffwy (very busy if you don’t know it) and a handicap room. It is a king though.. but I am not handicap and the shower is not to my liking. It is just disappointing, that she would stick us in a handicap room and on the street. I guess booking from a different website is not always the best idea. We learned the hard way. I got online to write this review, however we still have one more night here. The positive is a nice hotel from when we walked in, location good for Plaza and restaurants. We live just over off of 49th, so really walking distance to here. We just thought we would have a more pleasant stay and to give our college boy and his friends the comfort of our place to themselves. I am sure this place is as other reviews have given. The lesson here from what I understand from the reservation agent behind check-in is you get what you pay for when booking with a third party. She could have at least informed us it was a handicap room.
