The only full-service oceanfront hotel in the Charleston area, Tides Folly Beach provides rooms with views of the ocean and its pool. Beachfront Patio Rooms provide semi-private backyard environments with direct access to the beach and pool. These rooms are outfitted with a king or two queen beds and feature a small fridge and flat-screen TV. Oceanfront rooms also provide either one king or two queen beds with small walkout balconies. The hotel offers a heated outdoor swimming pool, free Wi-Fi and onsite dining at BLU, an oceanfront indoor/outdoor restaurant serving breakfast (7 to 11 a.m.), lunch (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and dinner (5 to 10 p.m.) daily, along with a Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

I run hotels for a living.. The front desk was horrible from beginning to end! I woke up at 7am and tried to call the front desk repeatedly. I was hung up on, over and over again without a “hold please”. She’d just pick up and hang up.. so I called from my cell- same thing. So I wandered downstairs and called and watched her to it again (seems weird but legit wanted to know if there was a problem before I actually said something). I approached the empty desk- and asked for a late check out, and let her know her phones didn’t work, I didn’t want a scene just a noon departure and she grudgingly obliged. She said they were offline and called maintenance on the radio in front of me. I thanked her for the noon checkout and told her someone was picking up and hanging up- she said “I don’t know how they’re not working”.. I than walked around the corner and maintenance walked up. She told him “I don’t really need you, I just called you to make it look like I did.” I turned the corner and said- not only did I watch you hang up on the call, I also heard what you said, what’s your managers name?” She huffed and puffed and handed me a card with a smirk and said “she’ll be here at 10:30” as if she didn’t even care that she had gone above and beyond to not answer the phone. If my employee did that it would be an immediate write up, if not termination. Kid, you’re not untouchable and jobs are a blessing- do yours!
I won’t stay here again or recommend it.
The view of the ocean was spectacular from our room. Heather, our server in the Blu Restaurant was friendly and very accommodating. We enjoyed our meals there and talking with her. The staff was helpful, especially the fellows at the front door. We did not want to leave!
