Reviews

Great value

by William C

I read the earlier reviews so was prepared. Called ahead to ensure someone was there to great us. They provide coffee, a coffee maker, and a microwave. There are a few paper plates and styrofoam bowls. Place was clean, good hot water, and Wi-Fi. There is a sweet balcony and a couple of chairs overlooking Lake Hovey. 15 minutes into Munising. Great value.

Very Clean, Peaceful, and Great to stay a couple of nights

Something I wish I had known before booking: The entire lake behind the property is only 1ft to 2ft deep (maybe 2 feet deep). We row-boated and paddle-boated the entire lake, and it has a 100% mucky bottom (sink to china mucky), and we frequently bottomed out. As such, we did try fishing with mostly top water and with some spoons, but did not see a fish, and had a grand total of two bites for 3 lengthy evening trips around the lake. So do not stay here for the fishing, and do not even think about swimming here.

Aside, from that the owners were outstanding people, and our room was super clean. There were hummingbirds by the dozen right outside our door at all times of the day. Incredible white geese on the lake, and the deer we seen seemed tame almost. The rates were great, and not complaints. I would not stay here again though, as I was disappointed in the lake quality & lack of usefulness.
