We have visited many times, usually off peak and it always offers a happy family feeling and helpfulness. Nothing is too much trouble the food is always good and clients are all happy and friendly. My father in law had been going for 35 years and still says it is just the best.

As a previous reviewer has mentioned almost all of the visitors are over 65. We were staying with our teenage son. We had an issue with the cleanliness of our bathroom and after cleaning the toilet myself, i noticed the bath was covered in grime. This was reported to reception who were most apologetic and assured me it would be cleaned whilst we had dinner. On return the grime was still there and my husband spoke to a cleaner the next morning amd this was rectified. The five course menu at first glance looked appealing but we were slightly concerned when the first course appeared about a minute after ordering and the whole meal was eaten within about forty minutes. We found the staff friendly apart from the gentleman who took the original booking as i felt i was conforming to his way and there was certainly no flexibility in terms of the dates we stayed as my son was a single occupancy he wouldn't accommodate us on a Saturday evening. He also stated if we booked direct we had to opt for full board not bed and breakfast as we had wanted. Also when we checked out I spoke to a young lady and raised the problem of the bathroom and did not receive an apology. As other reviewers have mentioned the views from the hotel are lovely but that alone would not encourage us to stay again.
