(+) Villa Lumbalumba is an awesome homestay with a pool and helpful staff. The breakfast is decent but can be improved with a real coffee. It is Indonesia after all and the coffee should not be instant. We had a tasty omelette and different toasts with butter and 5 various jams. Fresh juices are instantly made. AC and fridge are available in the room. The air conditioner is placed in such a way that it does not blow to the bed but installed behind the wall, so it cools down the room but does not disturb you. The room is big, bed is comfy, shampoo and shower gel are available. A girl, who was probably the daughter of the lady, who works at the villa, helped us with an important phone call to an airline call center. She did not even take money for this phone call. Two cats living at the property are lovely. It is a relaxed and very thoroughly designed place. The payment was directly deducted from my credit card a few days in advance, so we did not have to worry about it.
(-) The wifi in our room did not work at all. You have to be close to the pool, then it was working.
Before coming to the villa, I asked about the price for a car with a driver for a day. They said it would cost 600-700.000IDR. When we arrived, the price for 8 hours increased to 850. We agreed on 750.000 with a driver. On the way to our hotel we wanted to have a lunch and the restaurant was not far away from our route. The driver started to complain that it was not agreed that he goes somewhere else besides the sightseeing spots and the hotel as the final destination. It should be noted that the guy said that if we want to have lunch, he can stop and wait for us. He did not want to stop at the hotel, so that we would have a chance to drop off our luggage and bring us to the restaurant. It was only 7 km between the hotel and the restaurant. At the end there was no point to discuss with this stubborn person any further, so we got out at the restaurant with our backpacks, paid 700.000 and sent him off. I know that it is a review for the villa but at the end, they recommended us this driver and we relied on this person. In my personal opinion, the owner of the villa should more carefully consider the satisfaction of the tourists, even if it is about the additional service offered.
