Just minutes from Waikiki Bay, the Vive Hotel Waikiki is conveniently situated near the beach, shops and attractions. The hotel offers a wide range of accommodations. Whether your family needs queen or king beds, separate bedrooms or multiple bathrooms, you will be able to find them here. There are partitions separating the bedrooms and living area for privacy and quiet. Rooms also come with a full kitchen for in-suite cooking. The hotel offers many complimentary benefits, including free breakfast, beach gear, boogie boards, umbrellas and more.
The hotel is within walking distance to not only the beach, but also many tour areas, water sports, restaurants, attractions and family activities. The Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium are also nearby. There are parks and plenty of trails to explore with your family, too.

We stayed at Vive Hotel in a junior suite for over a week and enjoyed our experience there. Sirens were loud at night, but we had no other noise issues. It was easy to walk anywhere around Waikiki and there were bus options nearby (both city and hop on/hop off). All staff members we interacted with were great - breakfast staff, front desk, valet, housekeeping. While breakfast was good, it quickly felt monotonous and lacked variety. The fruit and croissants were tasty, but the hard boiled eggs and occasional sausage were only okay. Adding some sautéed veggies and scrambled eggs would have been great. However, we always enjoyed having something quick at the hotel for breakfast. If you're looking for a hotel in Waikiki, I'd highly recommend Vive.
This is the second time I've stayed at the VIVE Waikiki. It's a great value, and only two blocks to the beach. It's not perfect, but the staff always makes a concerted effort to correct problems and make you happy. This time, when I checked in, I noticed that the carpet to the side of the bed was wet, apparently due to a leak in the wall and floor between the shower and bed area. The staff was quick to change my room. I appreciated the quick response and customer service. Another plus is that the hotel provides you with beach towels, chairs, mats and umbrellas, all at no extra charge. That's a great bonus.
Generally, the hotel is very nice, in both guest rooms and in the lobby and breakfast area. However, this is not a new building, and portions of the hallways where the guest rooms are located are open to the outdoors. As a result, weather has effected the carpets, walls, and hallway decor more than you would see in a more traditional hotel where all the hallwyas are internal. It's just harder to maintain, and some of it looks a little shabby.
The only other complaint I have is about their breakfast. There's a nice display of fruits and melons, and attempts to provide a nice selection of breads and pastries. However, there are no signs telling you what type of bread and pastries are being served that morning. For example, some pastries have meat inside (surprise!), some have fruit, and you never know what you're getting until you bite into them. Similarly, they often serve bread that looks like it has raisins, but turns out to be dotted with blueberries. Simple signs labeling the food items would be helpful. Also, there is a distinct shortage of hot items providing protein. And, the kitchen is often understaffed in key morning hours..
In spite of those shortcomings, I enjoy the hotel, and consider it to be of great value and excellent location. I will stay there again.
