Overview

This hip hotel in Leicester Square isn’t typically a family hotspot, but trendy families who want a little edge in their getaway may want to consider the W. Rooms at the W come with names like Wonderful, Spectacular, Fabulous and Cool, all of which only sleep two, so families with hipster teens who can have their own room are best suited to this property. Cool Corner rooms are the largest of the standard rooms, but suites are available, including the Studio Suite, Screening Suite, Marvelous Suite, Wow Suite and Extreme Wow Suites, of which all still only sleep two. Suites feature separate living space, DVD players, bathrobes and slips, Bliss Spa bathroom products, and free access to FIT Fitness. Onsite dining is as cool as the rooms, with the Spice Market Restaurant one of SoHo’s hippest restaurants, while the Wyld bar features a DJ and late-night tunes. Afternoon tea can be found in the W Lounge daily, and breakfast is offered in Spice Market daily. Pets are welcome at the hotel, and free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the hotel.

Pre Show Meal

by Sarah K

We arrived on a Friday at 6pm, probably one of the busiest times of the week, with couples and groups grabbing a meal before shows or other nights out. There was no queue and we were quickly seated with the proviso that we accept that others might be joining us on our table. The seating is on benches and long rows of tables, cafeteria style.
The restaurant was full and another couple quickly joined us, but this was pleasant, with all of us comparing our menu choices.
The service was quick and polite, and the food (from the vegan menu) was delicious and piping hot).
This is not a classy dining experience but is a perfect addition to a night on the town.

Central London

by ksormani

Great location in central London- your are close to SoHo and many other of the main tourist attractions. The actual area outside the hotel is thronged with tourists during the day and evening so just be prepared for that. The hotel rooms are typical in W style size- compact yet comfortable and stylish. Our beds were quite comfortable. The shower had a funky stale smell when we opened the door but the housekeeping folks cleaned that up after our notice of it to them.
I can’t say enough about the staff at the W. Their customer service skills were superb- friendly, attentive, going out of their way at every turn. Shoutouts to Jackabo and JaLuka who gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and attractions to visit. We were headed to Portugal afterwards and staff member Ines Almeida who is from Porto, Portugal was kind enough to send us a separate email of her suggestions for attractions and restaurants to visit while we were in Portugal. And even the security staff on the first floor entrance was amazing - always friendly and welcoming when we walked in- thank you Dominick!
Lastly we had a problem the last night- the city decided it needed to do some emergency street work so there was loud jack hammering outside our window. We let the front desk know it was disturbing us so the staff was quick to offer us alternate accommodations away from the noise. Just a great customer experience.
