On a recent vacay to DC w/ the fam (wife and 1.5yr old). We arrived on a Friday evening and ambience was as expected; lively! Arrival was smooth, staff was friendly (valet and bellman greeted us nicely) and check-in was a breeze. Based on my status, we were upgraded to an amazing WoW suite w/ views of the GW monument. I was a bit apprehensive of having our daughter w/ us while most of the guests were in full party mode, but most patrons were actually stopping by her stroller to say hi...everyone was in a great mood.
One hiccup to report; overnight our a/c stopped working and it resulted in an uncomfortable night. I spoke w/ Louda Sagesse at reception who graciously upgraded us to the penthouse suite. Absolutely remarkable; massive suite w/ modern decor and everything you'd expect from the W.
The complimentary breakfast at the restaurant was great, the bar downstairs have great staff + cocktails. Definitely make your way to the rooftop, it's where the party is.
The W will be our preferred hotel while in DC.
Great view, wonderful drinks. Margarita made with fresh lime juice and your choice of tequila.
A little crowded as expected but the windows open and cool off the bar area.
I didn't try the food.
Look forward to another visit.
