Refined older hotel

The first view of the Whitney is interesting ; a smaller, older senior citizen of a hotel surrounded by its taller, younger , more modern siblings. When you first walk in you are surrounded by images of it's former use as a bank. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a small suite which was quite lovely. Our room overlooked over the street and for some reason there seemed to be a lot of emergency vehicles during the time we were there so it was quite noisy but otherwise we quite enjoyed our stay . The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again.

Well preserved older hotel

The hotel is older, but clean and well maintained. However, it does lack restaurant/bar facilities which I like to use when I stay at a hotel. Room was clean and plenty big enough. Location is good for downtown and the French quarter. Quiet at night. Good value for money.
