Handicapped in Oak Creek/Sedona, Arizona

by gstabc

This motel is a great buy in Oak Valley, near Sedona. A great place to stay. We had the handicap room near the front office. This is down stairs close to the parking lot, right in front of the handicapped parking spaces, yet not reserved. Right next door is the ice machine and tourist pamphlets. The stairs are close by which take you up to additional rooms and the viewing deck. The viewing deck is an excellent addition to the motel which provides easy viewing of the mountains, or buttes and the traffic below.
This area has roundabouts with no traffic lights. Entrance to the motel is off of the roundabout and not off of the main road. From here we were able to explore, Sedona, Flagstaff, and the Grand Canyon.

The room has a small refrigerator and microwave. Since the room sits next to the front office we usually kept the curtains closed since there was much traffic in the area which is also a patio and eating area for the continental breakfast of coffee, hot chocolate, tea and muffins. The muffins are store bought and taste like it.

The reason why the four star rating instead of five had mainly to do with the plumbing problems in the bathroom. While, this did not cause a major problem we did mention it to the front desk. There was a problem with slow drainage, clogged sink. Additionally, a water pressure sound in a neighboring room could be heard in our room. These were not corrected when we were there but I am sure that it would be. This is one of the best economical choices in the Oak Creek Village / Sedona areas.

Nice hotel with stunning views

Friendly staff, quick check in and good parking. The hotel is situated in the Village of Oak Creek about 20 minutes drive from the main Sedona tourist area. There are stunning views from the hotel. Rooms are a little old fashioned but big and well equipped. There are some shops and restaurants within walking distance and hiking trails close by.
