Stay at the Marriott

by megilla

We stayed in a King Suite - total $375.00 for 1 night. Room 117 11/9/19

What's great about this hotel. It has a welcoming lobby, plenty of free parking, beautiful grounds and is connected through an inside hallway to their event space.

What's not good. The noise in the hallways after the events end. The breakfast, it is a continental breakfast with bagels, pastry items, oatmeal and make your own waffles. The only fruit offered was bananas. I saw no beverage options other than coffee or tea. I drink neither, maybe I missed it. I've had better breakfast at far less expensive hotels. There is a noticeable slope in the floor, more like a drop off in the room. My husband and I both found the bed hard and uncomfortable, with one thin blanket between two sheets, we used the blanket that was left for the pull out on top of our bed. The fixtures in the bathroom are all dated, think early eighties. We were also a little put off after buying water bottles in the lobby at check in to find two in the room. I'm not complaining about free water, but why wouldn't you tell me there is some in the room if I am buying it AT check in?

What's terrible. When we arrived in our room the temperature was 60 and the system was shut off in both rooms. It was 47 outside. We turned on both systems and sat with our coats on for 30 minutes while the room heated up. Knowing someone is checking in, the system should have been on. The systems also can be set but do not stay above 72 and the room was very drafty so felt colder. If you don't consistently stay on the wifi you have to keep logging in and that's a pain. The floor lamp in the corner isn't quite tall enough, instead of getting one that is, they gave it a boost with little pieces of styrofoam. Classy. The drain in the sink was all rusted.
The final piece was the shower. We used the shower the night we checked in, it worked. The morning we were leaving it didn't. The water barely trickled out. We informed the front desk upon check out and they argued with my husband saying that guests often have trouble and he should have called. The person at the desk went to check it and said it worked. I can only imagine it is a water pressure problem and that at 10:00 there were too many people taking showers. Still completely unprofessional and rude.
I would not stay here again.

Best Value in the neighborhood

by NathanBeale

Can't say much about how amazing it is, but the price and quality of facility and amenities made it the best value for us. Two rooms with two beds each, came with free breakfast for about 3 hours and free wifi. Parking was free too. Stayed in another hotel on the east once and had to pay for parking, so free parking was a plus. Location was convenient for our travels and will recommend.
