We were looking for a safe/decent/affordable place to stop overnight on our way back home to Florida. Quick checkin with polite staff. We were given a clean room with an amazing view. Our room was clean and smelled fresh. We had a nice little stove and refrigerator also. The room and furnishings were a little outdated, but definitely clean and comfortable.
The pool is amazing and it was heated! ???? the hot tub was also nice, but did not appear to be heated - it was cold, so we spent our time in the pool. Both were clean.
The location is perfect - on the boardwalk, next to the pier and oceanfront.
I almost did not choose this place based on other reviews here and on other sites, but I am glad that I did. If ever in this area again, I would stay here again.
Where do I start. The pro: The check in was quick and the staff was prompt and polite. The location was great. The hotel was within walking distance of shopping, food and entertainment. The room did have a kitchenette. I'm not much of a cook so the refrigerator was the only advantage to me. I didn't see any evidence of any type of bedbugs. The mattress was a little too firm for me but I am the type that likes a softer sleep. That is pretty much the pro's associated with this property. Now for the CON'S: I stayed for 5 nights. Two of the days when house keeping was to clean the room I was there (due to my schedule) so at my request house keeping did not clean. The other 3 days was a completely different issue. The bathtub wasn't cleaned the entire time I was there. For what ever reasons I bring more than just clothes with me on vacation such as bed linings, towels, cleaning supplies just in case. I also bring snacks, bottled water and such to save me money. I brought a brand new unopened box of Rice Crispy Treats and Lance peanut butter cracker. I put them in the same duffel bag with my clothes, bathroom cleaner, etc. I did not realize that they were missing until I had returned home and started to unpack. I knew I did not eat neither of the items. I want to make this clear that I traveled ALONE and did not give my key to ANYONE. I am also NOT making any accusations toward ANYONE but only stating what honestly happened. It appeared to me that neither the floor in the kitchen or bathroom was ever swept. I thought it was stains in the carpet at first but after looking closer I found that there were crumbs in the carpet.(This was upon arrival the first day) There were crumbs on the table when I returned after the room was suppose to have been cleaned. I did have some personal items on the table and thought they didn't want to mess with them was the reason for not cleaning the table. I respect that. The next day In took everything off the table. I got the same results when I returned and the room was suppose to have been cleaned. On the next to last day of my stay at this property I purposely left a piece of cracker in the bed covers. When I returned from my sightseeing and the room was suppose to of been cleaned I found the same cracker in the bed covers. I stayed in room 205 which is right next to the elevator and the stairway. The elevator could a little slow so some people including myself would use the stairs rather than to wait for the elevator. When the door of the stairway closed it was very load. When I checked in the lady behind the desk had made a general comment about the property being booked I will not stay at this property again.
