January. A month of cold weather and mounds of snow. After the lights and spirit of the holidays, January can seem, well, bland. But there is one great thing about January: travel deals! Resorts in family-friendly destinations from Hawaii to Florida roll out a heap of post-holiday winter travel deals, offering families the chance to relax on the beach, go snow-tubing or take on Space Mountain — all for rock bottom prices.

We’ve rounded up seven money-saving winter travel steals offered before the spring break crowds. Want even more travel bargains? Check out our family travel deals page.

Party with the Mouse: Disney World Resort Area

Star Island Resort and Club, which is located in Kissimmee, Florida, just a few minutes’ drive from Disney World Resort, is currently offering deeply discounted rates for January stays. Save 20 percent on two-night stays and save 30 percent on stays of three or more nights when you visit the resort this January. We like Star Island because it has family-friendly rooms, and suites with multiple bedrooms and kitchens. Plus, there are loads of onsite activities for kids and parents to enjoy, from tennis (there are nine courts on the property!) to jet skiing on nearby Lake Cecile. Click here for details.

All guests ages 17 and under ski and stay for free. It gets better: You’ll get your third night’s stay free of charge. Sunriver has a complimentary shuttle that takes guests from the resort to Mt.
