Great Casual Stay!

by kdavi3

We enjoyed our time at the Seventh Mountain Resort. It is a tiny bit away from the hustle and bustle of DT Bend, so if that is not what you are looking for, be sure to check the map. We loved it because it was closer to all of our hiking and biking designations.
You can literally walk out the door and begin to hike and bike! The Deschutes River Trail is directly behind the property, it is a fantastic hike with phenomenal views!

We rented an Air BNB and it was newly remodeled and updated! We had lots of space and creature comforts of home, so it was a terrific basecamp. Plus we got to use all of the properties amenities!!!

Pickleball? Yes! Family fun!

Swimming pools and hot tubs after a long day of activity? Yep, there are plenty to choose from with a nice facility with a sauna and locker rooms. We loved the larger, kidney shaped hot tub. We soaked our tired feet away each night and then quickly ushered ourselves into the locker room to stay warm with a quick sauna.

Tennis anyone - they’ve got you covered there as well!

Ice skating in the winter - oh my! Such a great looking and fun area. It wasn’t open for us yet, but it was a motivator for coming back!!

Frisbee golf - 9 hole course and fun! The course has a few challenges with some broken, wooden tee boxes and the 8th hole has some mounds of what appears to be full dirt, but I am assuming they may get to making this a little nicer as they are sprucing up certain areas. If not on their radar, hopefully they read this review...it just needs an ever so slight amount of TLC. But thank you for offering it and free gear to borrow!

Mini golf? YES! There is a mini, mini course, but still 18 holes and actually really fun and in pretty decent shape for being out in the elements - did I mention it is included? You just pick up your putters, balls and scorecards at the rev shop. Our family is pretty much mini golf crazed and we had a blast!

Restaurant/bar on site. A great cozy space to grab a drink, snack or meal. The bar manager (sorry, I meant to remember his name!) was incredibly friendly! He acknowledged everyone who came in with a smile and a welcoming hello. He walked the space checking on everyone and provided prompt and kind service. Plus the fire was going and it was incredibly clean in the restaurant. Sometimes the little resort eateries can just be bland and a bit dark and dirty. This was a really nice space to just hang and enjoy! Plus, those cute pillows made out of winter vests? Come on! Too cute sitting on top of the ski lift benches!!

Just a few cons:
There is some exterior renovation going on. I don’t really see this as a con, because they are enhancing
the property, but you should be aware - in case you are looking to hang out at the resort and have true silence and bliss. Just check where you will be in conjunction to the construction. The updates look terrific!

The rooms seem to have an issue with the heating/air system and there are some noises associated with this. I cannot really explain it, but it’s almost like a rhythmic tapping, sometimes softer, sometimes louder. It didn’t bother us during the daytime, just at night. If you are a light sleeper, be aware and maybe bring some ear plugs.

We loved our stay, we will be back! The Resort is casual, friendly and so chill. It’s not a big, fancy place, but it is big in heart, friendly employees and activities that just make you feel at home!

Had a wonderful stay

The resorts location to activities was perfect. We always enjoy coming to Bend in the fall. This year was especially beautiful. We had a really nice, peaceful stay. It was very relaxing. We loved feeding the blue jays a peanut each morning.

Family Activities

Summer

The warmer months offer lots of outdoor activities for families at Seventh Mountain Resort. Several mountain biking (bike rentals available onsite) and hiking trails surround the property. Horseback riding is offered at an additional cost and guests can enjoy checking out the horses at the onsite stable from about May through October. A disc golf and mini-golf course can be found on the property, along with an outdoor playground/climbing area and cornhole. Sand volleyball, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts are available to use. Additionally, rafting, paddle boarding, kayaking and fly-fishing tours on the famous Dechutes River can be arranged as well.

Winter

In the colder months (about mid-November to March), the basketball court that is situated in the center of the resort becomes the centerpiece of a winter wonderland when it transforms into a beautiful ice skating rink. Lights fill the trees and surround the outdoor rink; guests will love the atmosphere of the rink just as much as the skating. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and dog sledding can be arranged through the hotel.

Skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing opportunities are less than 10 minutes away at Mount Bachelor. Seventh Mountain Resort is the closest resort to the ski mountain and offers a shuttle bus to the mountain. Discounted lift tickets can also be purchased at the resort.

Adventure Center

The Adventure Center, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., triples as a small grocery market, souvenir and equipment shop and is the home base for the kids' program. The kids' program varies each season, but usually offers things like arts and crafts and other daily games and activities in the summer months. This is also where guests can schedule off-site tours like rafting, kayaking or snowshoeing.

Pools

There are two outdoor heated pools (one saltwater, one chlorine) open year-round, and three outdoor hot tubs. A small kiddie pool, with a depth of 1 to 2 feet, can also be found outside as well. Numerous lounge chairs and umbrellas surround this large resort-style patio/pool area, where there are also fire pits to enjoy in the evenings. Movies are shown in the pool area at night in the summer months.

The Pool House is situated a few steps away from the water and guests will find restrooms, lockers and a dry sauna. The pools are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (11 p.m. in the summer) and pool towels are provided. Pool service for drinks and food is also available in the summer months.

Family Dining

Rimrock

This onsite restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in the summer months and is situated only steps away from the pools. In the winter months, Rimrock is only open on weekends.
