Reviews

lovely staff

by Ellamisma2019

This was our fourth visit to Kamarina as a family. Couple and two chidlren aged 10 and 5. Usually go in May / summertime, thought we'd try La Toussaint as we had 2 weeks off this year... sadly weather quite unsettled and it rained about half the days.

All the Italian staff were delightful, friendly and helpful, as ever, the Sailing team excellent: Vitor, Michelangelo, Mister Jo, Stefano v helpful and professional. Lucia on reception as helpful and delightful as ever - if something can be done, she will ensure that it is done. Nello served espresso with the greatest pleasure and aplomb every morning in the Trinacria.

Miniclub did what they could and was well-managed but GO's looking after the children just did not speak English sufficiently well to make my children feel comfortable and there were v few English speaking GMs in the two last weeks of October. English-speaking families did not tend to leave their families in the miniclub as a result. There were no decent indoor activities when it rained for children or adults, so the kids were bored to tears in miniclub and nothing to do outside miniclub either, no indoor spaces and gym tiny - children not allowed.

The sunny days on the beach (about half the time) were glorious though and so was the sailing. The food was great and all the Italian staff were delightful. I don't know how they put up with the rudeness of many of the GMs who attended this resort on this occasion however. Seemed much worse / more noticeable than previously... some appalling behaviour and foul language used in front of my 5 year-old. Sadly very off-putting and not sure we'll come again as a result,.

One child protection issue: one of the teenage girls present as a GM (very talented acrobat) was put on a trapeze in what turned into a G-string and it was extremely embarrassing... we did not know where to look and were absolutely mortified for the child and her family. It does not seem too much to ask to ensure one's teenage daughter is not exposed in this way. We would be absolutely LIVID if we were her parents!!!

A disappointing resort

A nice resort but very tired and dated and therefore we did not feel we got value for money. We found the staff very helpful and the accommodation in the main hotel was adequate for a standard room and quite comfortable in the suite. Nice views from the hotel. Lovely beach!
