1. Royalton Grenada – Grenada

Grenada is known as the Spice Island, with locally grown nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves perfuming the sea air. Its beautiful beaches make it a tropical trifecta of sun, sand and surf.

Opened March 1, the Royalton Grenada is a welcome addition to the panorama, with 269 upscale suites, four restaurants, a wellness program and a state-of-the-art kids’ club. Free high-speed Wi-Fi for all devices, unlimited reservation-free dining, 24-hour room service, satellite television with specialty channels, family-friendly entertainment and non-motorized sports are included.

2. Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya – Mexico 

Mexico’s first Nickelodeon Hotel & Resort, Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya, follows the success of the brand’s award-winning Punta Cana property.

The 276-suite hotel aims to deliver a whimsical family holiday. Kids should enjoy the familiar Nickelodeon characters and one of the splashiest water parks in Mexico, providing hours of aquatic fun on the lazy river, multiple slides and interactive water playground. The resort is currently scheduled to open in the fall.

3. Ikos Andalusia – Spain

Opening soon on the tranquil shores of Spain’s Playa de Guadalmansa, Ikos Andalusiawill be a 411-room hotel with landscaped gardens and miles of golden sandy beach.

The luxurious all-inclusive concept will include à la carte menus curated by Michelin-starred chefs, 24-hour room service, beach waiter service, complimentary kids’ clubs and an innovative meal plan allowing guests to dine at local restaurants as part of their stay. Guests will also have use of a MINI Cooper to explore the area.

4. Fives Oceanfront – Mexico

Located in a laidback fishing village overlooking the turquoise sea, the luxurious Fives Oceanfront will feature Mexican design blended with coastal chic. The 115 accommodations will provide one-, two- and three-bedroom residential-style suites that include a full kitchen, living area and sofa bed. A private beach club, two infinity pools, multiple restaurants and a spa and fitness center take fun in the sun to the next level.

It will enjoy an excellent location, just a quick walk from Puerto Morelos and only 15 minutes from Cancun International Airport. It’s currently scheduled to open July 1.

5. Club Med Alpe d’Huez – French Alps

Club Med pioneered the all-inclusive concept back in 1950 and they’ve got it down to a science. Following a $110 million renovation, Club Med Alpe d’Huezis set to reopen. Located in the French Alps, this 441-room upscale ski resort caters to families. Guests will receive a lift ticket to the over 155 miles of ski runs and access to daily downhill skiing and snowboarding lessons.

Expect ski-in/ski-out access, authentic Alpine cuisine, a spa and stellar mountain views. An array of sports in winter and summer, including snowshoeing, ice-skating, dog sledding, mountain biking and guided hikes, equals year-round fun.

There will be extensive programming for children. Kids’ clubs are organized by age, so youngsters will be with peers. Numerous activities will bring the entire family together, including baking workshops and slope-side picnics.

While the resort opened at the end of 2019, all reservations prior to June 1, 2020, have been canceled amid the COVID-19 breakout, and any reservations made for stays between June 1 and June 15 may be canceled without penalization. After June 15, normal reservation policies stand.

6. Now Natura Riviera Cancun – Mexico

Inspired by the surrounding jungle, Now Natura Riviera Cancun faces the Caribbean Sea on a white-sand beach. This 556-room resort is just a 10-mile drive from the Cancun International Airport. Enjoy a landscape infused with elements of nature including fishponds brimming with colorful, exotic species. The onsite spa is designed to look like the region’s remarkable swimming holes, called cenotes.

There’s a wealth of kid-centric perks. The Explorer’s Club for ages 3 to 12 is open daily with supervised activities like arts and crafts, storytelling, music, treasure hunts and sandcastle contests.

The Core Zone Teen’s Club is a good place for teens to chill while enjoying video games, a snack bar with non-alcoholic drinks, billiards and air hockey.

The resort has four swimming pools, including a children’s splash pool. Cooking classes, Spanish lessons and golf add to the fun.

7. Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana – Dominican Republic

The new Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana promises to be an idyllic beach getaway. The 500 comfortable suites will be spacious and bright. At the kids’ club, activities include a playground, indoor game room with video games, weekly campout adventures and movies on the beach.

Teens have their own supervised program, with sports, games and special activities.

The water park is equipped with waterslides, racer slides and a lazy river. The entire family can enjoy water aerobics, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing. Tennis clinics, basketball courts, a trampoline, a batting cage, beach volleyball, pool tables, aerobics, dance classes and Spanish lessons round out the offerings.

8. RIU Dubai – Dubai

The Spanish chain RIU will make its Middle East debut in Dubai in 2020 with a four-star beachfront hotel on the Deira Islands. The 750-room property will include a water park, fitness complex and a children’s club. The Deira Islands are known for the exotic night souk market so hotel guests can expect lots of local color. The chain’s all-inclusive concept offers nonstop activities and diverse gourmet dining options. The resort has an expected opening date of September 2020.

9. IBEROSTAR Selection Bávaro – Dominican Republic

IBEROSTAR Selection Bávaro is set to reopen after a complete remodel. One hundred percent of the rooms have been renovated, and there will be several new room categories, including Family Suites with extra space.

The new family area has a pool targeted for small children and a water park. Also new is Star Camp, an onsite coral lab that’s run by actual scientists. Kids may join the Star Camp team as they work to preserve and restore coral life.

While the resort opened in late 2019, it closed March 16 due to the COVID-19 crisis, and is expected to reopen in May. You may modify any previously made reservations.

10. Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort – Dominican Republic

Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort, a 603-room, all-inclusive property, is scheduled to open in September 2020.  Set along a premium section of Punta Cana’s white-sand beach, families will be spoiled with luxurious accommodations, buffet and á la carte choices at six restaurants and five snack bars, and day and nighttime diversions. All non-motorized water sports, such askayaking, windsurfing and snorkeling,are included. Clubs for children and teens will assure plenty of fun for youngsters. Three pools, including one with waterslides and games, are a nice addition to the beautiful beach.

The décor will utilize local materials with pops of color and texture.Family suites present spacious configurations and perks like double sinks and outdoor Jacuzzis. The spa will offer innovative treatments with natural ingredients incorporating therapies from across the globe with indigenous elements.

Royal Uno All-Inclusive Resort & Spa in Cancun, Mexico

11. Royal Uno All-Inclusive Resort & Spa – Mexico

The Royal Uno is set to to debut in December 2020. Royal Resorts, pioneers in Mexican Caribbean tourism, strive to create an authentic experience with lots of local color and flavor. This Cancun Hotel Zone beachfront resort will be a multimillion-dollar renovation of The Royal Caribbean. A mix of 540 rooms and multi-bedroom suites will cater to families with comfortable luxuries. The resort will include five restaurants, two big pools, a children’s pool with water play area, a spa, a swim-up bar and a beach bar, a kid’s club and a family room with video games and movie screenings. Guests will be able to enjoy kayaks and sailboats on the lagoon, daily activities and nightly entertainment.

12. Dreams Vista Cancun Resort & Spa – Mexico

Dreams Vista Cancun Resort & Spa will feature 416 guestrooms and suites, 185 of which will be family suites. Family suites will sleep up to five adults and three kids (aged 0 to 12), and some will feature private plunge pools! Dreams Vista Cancun will also offer eight restaurants, seven bars, three swimming pools (one with a mini water park for young kids), water sports equipment rentals, fitness classes, theme nights, beach parties, live entertainment, and separate programming for both kids and teens. The resort is expected to open later this year.

13. Occidental Nuevo Vallarta – Mexico

The Occidental Nuevo Vallarta will open a brand-new tower in 2020. The tower will feature elegantly appointed guestrooms and views of the Bahía de Banderas. The resort is just 25 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta International airport.

The Riviera Nayarit has some of the cleanest beaches in Mexico. Authentic Mexican culture and diverse culinary options make the region very attractive.

The resort’s location is just a short distance from the shops and restaurants of Nuevo Vallarta, for easy off-site explorations.

Rates include room service, excursions and water sports like diving and kayaking. There’s a full program of supervised activities at the kids’ club.
