Chill and enjoyable

by Pascal v

Upon arrival at the Flamingo Airport we were picked up by our driver who brought us in less then 20 minutes to our stay for 8 days. We booked a studio but due to unforeseen circumstances had a free upgrade and stayed in a double room (111). The Best view from the balcony over greenery of the place and of course the sea.
Main purpose was diving on Bonaire, the package included a car (pickup) and free use of scuba tanks. After a full introduction on how to behave in the Marine Park, which surrounds the island, we started diving the house reef named Oil slick which proved to be really beautiful (in total we did 6 dives here, we liked it that much).
The facilities here are good, 3 pools, heaps of parking and basins to wash the dive gear after a day of beautiful diving. Afterward good food and drink can be enjoyed at their restaurant/bar with the friendly staff. Also the place were we had our breakfast (a la carte or buffet). When the bowls in the tree were full of sugar swarms of ‘suikerdiefjes’ came to eat and entertain us.
The place is well kept, however a dusting here and there would not be unnecessary. The pickup we had was an old Chinese ZX Auto Grandtiger with the antenna snapped off (no music, so we had to talk in the car ????) and the hitch was half broken. Despite this we really had a great stay and would recommend the place to everyone with a budget and main goal to enjoy and chill.

Nice and quiet

We stayed there in April 2019. We booked the dive and drive package and loved it. The unit we stayed in (#208) was very nice and it was great having a little kitchenette to cook in, rather than go out for every meal. Our breakfasts were included, which was fantastic. It was very pleasant staying a few kilometers north of town since it is much quieter up there. We had quick and easy access to the northern dive sites, starting at Oil Slick Leap. Although they are associated with Buddy Dive, it is a totally different feel than the resort at Buddy Dive. I am sure BD is nice, but it just felt much more busy and frantic the day we were there for a boat dive.

Although our first truck broke down on day 3, a simple chat with the folks at the resort took care of it. They handed us the keys to a nearly brand new truck for the remainder of our week. It was great customer service.

We would definitely stay there again. The people at the front desk were extremely friendly. Most importantly, the two cats that roam the resort (Wanda and Thomas) were super cool!
