This was by far our favourite place (lodging and location) on our four week driving trip of the South Island.

Driving into Marahau we were amazed immediately by the view and the quaint township. We were a little worried that we were going to be "stuck" the the middle of nowhere but, the Able Tasman Lodge really is in walking distance to everything you need.

Scott and Jocelyn were incredible hosts which is further demonstrated by the immaculate and wonderfully furnished rooms. There are many thoughtful (and hilarious) touches in the room - they really have considered their clientele in every little detail.

We didn't arrive in Able Tasman very well researched which didn't matter as Jocelyn and Scott were ready to help recommend parts of the track, book the water taxi and even make the most scrumptious lunch for our hike.

While here we did eat out a lot (food around was yummy and fresh) but it was great to have the option to use the kitchen facilities if we wanted to.

Great value to money and has everything you need for a relaxing stay, I'll be staying here again!

We had had 3 nights in Abel Tasman Lodge, Scott and Jocelyn were perfect hosts having the perfect balance of information and independence for the guests. All staff were professional and friendly and the lodge was very clean and well stocked. When booking trips Jocelyn and Scott were very helpful and had a full understanding of what was on offer and who best suited our needs.
We found our stay very relaxing and Abel Tasman is so picturesque it is a must to visit .
