Overview

You’ll have most everything you need at Aloft Austin in North Austin at the Domain, as it is located on 10 acres of upscale shopping, restaurants and entertainment. It’s also close to the famous Arboretum Mall. You can even check out a local artist at one of the Live at Aloft Hotels Shows. There are 24/7 grab-and-go meals, in case you are up late with the baby; a heated outdoor swimming pool that opens at 6 a.m.; and special bedding, child-sized air mattresses and other treats for kids with the Camp Aloft amenities. There is free Wi-Fi, touch and go check in, a hip vibe with bright colors, expansive lobby and performances by local musicians and a DJ. Yet the brand takes pains to be kid-friendly. The hotel is also pet friendly. Get extra Starwood points or a $5 voucher for each night you decline housekeeping to make a Green choice.

Reviews

Gross- very disappointing

by brookem170

We came to Austin to look for homes. Decided to stay here bc it is in a fun area. Check in was awful. The girl didn’t listen to a single thing we said or asked. Not helpful at all. Got to the room & was completely disgusted by how gross the shower was. It looks like it has never been cleaned. Left this morning at 9am, returned at 4pm & room still hadn’t been cleaned. Bathroom didn’t have complete set of towels so now we will have to call for towels...

It’s very hot here & the hallways & lobby are super hot- almost like they aren’t air conditioned.

So disappointed considering how upscale this area is. Will never stay here again- sad bc we will be back often as we look for homes. They have lost a customer forever.

Awful

I definitely won't stay here again. Ironically, I thought I had the wrong hotel before I wrote this review, because my room and most of the hotel looked only semi similarly to the pictures.

Where do I begin? The hotel has a very industrial feel. The floors were cement and it had a loft ceiling, the lobby didn't even look like a hotel. My room was very cold (not temperature, decor). The walls were gray, floors in bathroom gray, very depressing. The walls were stained in many locations.

So...here is why I gave this hotel an overall 1. I arrived at midnight from a late flight. My room was not clean. There was still trash in the trashcan etc, gross. So I went downstairs and asked for another room. The hotel was full and there weren't any other rooms, so I had to wait while it was cleaned. The front desk person didn't speak Spanish, the housekeeper only spoke Spanish, so it took a while for me to determine if my room was actually being cleaned. After an hour, my room was finally done. I only know it was done because I got tired of sitting in the lobby with no updates, or acknowledgement that I was sitting there, and went up to check. Housekeeping was just finishing up. Here is why I am so frustrated. A person came in about 45 minutes into my wait to check in, she was next to my room, so not sure why I couldn't have gotten her room and they cleaned mine and gave it to her when she checked in. I was given nothing, not really an apology, not a so sorry cup of tea, nothing. So then, I went to bed after 1 am, in a room that smelled strongly of cleaning products. I checked other hotels, and they were all sold out.

Also, the fan in my room was so loud that when it turned on to blow, I woke up every time thinking someone was trying to get into my room. Finally, I turned it off. I also heard my neighbors getting ready, so needless to say, I was very tired at my meeting the next day.

I thought maybe I would be asked when I checked out how my stay was, nope, two girls working, neither cared.

This hotel needs to learn a lot about service.
