Bring Fido and Fluffy on your getaway to The Apple Tree Inn, an affordable hotel with four pet friendly rooms and free limo service, presumably for humans only. Families enthuse about friendly staff, clean pool and Jacuzzi with pool toys for the small fry, views of Little Traverse Bay from upper floor balconies, and the piece de resistance, a limo and driver! Do tip the driver, who will take you anywhere within a two-mile radius of the Inn, which covers quite a bit of ground in Petoskey, including the Gaslight shopping district.

We stayed here one night. The rooms were nice and clean. Still had trouble with the AC blowing on me all night. Seemed to be my issue on this vacation. I was pleasantly surprised to see they served a continental breakfast! It wasn't a lot, but there was a waffle machine. My grandson loved the suite - two bedrooms with a total of three queen beds. My daughter liked the free limo service, so she and her husband could go downtown for drinks. May daughter was able to run a few loads of laundry, which was nice. Our room had outdoor seating and there was a nice common space on a desk for people to sit outside at tables. My only complaint was that it said "heated pool" and I didn't go in, because it wasn't any warmer than any other hotel pool.
This is probably such an underrated hotel. When we first pulled up I saw the sign and said to my husband “oh no, this place looks so dated and the parking lot is so empty” (I now know I was not seeing where the majority of guests park). We proceeded to check-in and were greeted with a warm welcome from Steven. The hallways were clean as we proceeded to our room. The room itself was very spacious and it was an added unexpected bonus to have a balcony facing the bay (all rooms have this). The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable (towels, soaps/lotions, microwave, fridge, etc.). The view of the bay is spectacular from the 4th floor (where we were) and made it a great evening activity to sit out and watch the sunset.
The Apple Tree Inn is a great location. It is about a mile from downtown Petoskey and very close to the State Park as well. It was perfect for getting around to all the places we needed to go during our stay. They do offer some sort of free limo service. I cannot comment on this as we did not use it.
The complimentary breakfast is basic. They offer waffles, cereal, eggs, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice, and an assortment of pastries (bread, bagels, muffins, and danishes). Perfect for a quick and free (well, included in your room cost) breakfast.
They also have a pool, hot tub, and fitness center. We did not use these, but they do look nice and clean.
Again, I believe this hotel is very underrated and I would not hesitate to stay again. Reading previous reviews, many of the “issues” were not experienced by us at all.
