Caladesi Island, near Clearwater, is only accessible by private boat or ferry from Honeymoon Island State Park. The 20-minute ferry ride over calm waters has visitors arriving on the bay side of Caladesi Island. From there, families can explore the 3 miles of wooded trails or enjoy the 3 miles of beach on the Gulf of Mexico side of the island. There’s a large, shaded picnic area and playground, and kayaks are available to rent and explore the mangrove trails.

Things to Know/Bring
Restrooms and showers are available on the island. The ferry runs every half-hour, but is adjusted seasonally and weather permitting.
