Known locally as MOSH, the Museum of Science & History in an interactive museum inspiring learning through exhibits and events. Kids can learn about their bodies in the Body Within or understand how energy works in the JEA PowerPlay. Take a walk through Jacksonville and Northeast Florida’s history in the Currents of Time, that covers settlements more than 12,000 years old. Kids can also encounter live animals native to Northeast Florida, such as turtles, snakes and alligators, in Florida’s Naturalist’s Center. MOSH’s planetarium runs a number of shows and performances to teach kids about space. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, until 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. On Fridays, the museum stays open late, until 8 p.m., with $5 entrance fees.
