Queen’s Staircase

Elizabeth Avenue, Top of Elizabeth Avenue, off Shirley Street,, Nassau

One of the most popular attractions in Nassau is the Queen’s Staircase, 65 steps carved out of limestone by slaves in the late 1700s. The 102-foot staircase is said to have been cut with axes and hand tools and has recently been renovated for those brave enough to take on the climb.
