All of the beaches in Mexico are public and this one is the epicenter of Sayulita. The beach is wide and while the ocean is great for surfing, it is also good for young children because the waves often break a bit further out, allowing the shallow waters to stay calm.
Chairs and umbrellas are available to rent from the beachfront restaurants that are also situated down on the sand; some offer beach food service. Water sports rentals, such as paddle boarding, snorkeling and surfing, can also be found at the beach.
Turtle releases also happen on the beach throughout the year so be sure to ask if a release is scheduled during your visit.
Things to Know/Bring
If you are seeking peace and quiet, this may not be the beach for you and your kids. It is quite busy with tourists and vendors selling their wares along the sand.
Several restaurants are located only steps from the sand.
Parking is very limited in town; if you are staying in town, we recommend walking to the beach.
