The most famous address in America, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is home to the White House, which is home to the President of the United States and his family. Most visitors take photos in front of the White House, as nabbing a tour ticket is difficult to come by. White House tours are available, however, which takes guests through the Executive Mansion, the East Wing, the Library, the Gold State Dining Room, the Red Room and the Blue Room. Tickets are not sold for the tours through the White House. Instead, they are offered to school groups or to individuals through their Member of Congress. It may take months to get Congress to reply to a request for tour tickets. Tours are self-guided and offered Tuesday through Saturday mornings. Tours are free.
