Admission for Cheyenne Mountain Zoo includes free access to the Will Rogers Memorial Shrine of the Sun, just a few minutes up the winding road. The shrine honors the late Will Rogers, a famous cowboy, humorist and actor who was killed in a plane crash in 1935 in Alaska. Climb the commemorative tower/castle (it looks like both) for some of the area’s best views.
