Overview

Beluga Lookout Lodge has been an affordable hotel and RV park for a long time. In 2016, the hotel added cozy little cabins that are perfect for a small family looking for an awesome location at a reasonable price. The cabins include a queen bed and full sofa sleeper, TV, refrigerator, microwave and a covered porch where you can sit and enjoy the view. It’s the view that makes this such a great location. The lodge sits on a bluff directly overlooking the mouth of the Kenai River as it empties into Cook Inlet. There are trails leading down to a pebble beach, where kids can search for agates and shells, fly a kite or play in the chilly surf.

The Lodge is in downtown Kenai, about a mile from the airport. You’ll be within easy walking distance of restaurants, stores and the Kenai Cultural Center. There are dozens of guided charters in town, ready to take you fishing for salmon and trout on the Kenai River or halibut on the sea. The Cook Inlet is also a prime spot to watch for whales, bald eagles and seals. For viewing other creatures, drive to the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge visitors center in Soldotna to find the best places to see bears, moose and caribou. With its affordable rates and gorgeous seaside location, the cabins at the Beluga Lookout Lodge are a great choice for your family vacation in Alaska.

Beautiful view! Saw beluga whales at the mouth of the Kenai River!

by DKinTX

We stayed in our travel trailer for two nights. The RV Park sits on top of a bluff overlooking the mouth of the Kenai River, so there are beautiful views. In the afternoons, we saw several beluga whales surface. We had never seen them in wild before, so that was a treat. There is also a trail leading to the beach below for those interested in a closer look. This place is very clean and the hosts are very helpful. We were close to sites in the city of Kenai and neighboring town of Soldotna. This is a nice, clean, quiet place to stay.
