Overview

The Blue Moon Hotel on Orchard Street is located on the Lower East Side. This boutique Manhattan hotel sits on cobblestone streets once occupied by push cart vendors, pickle packers, butchers and bakers. The neighborhood is full of exciting things to do, from a visit to the Tenement Museum to eating at the legendary Katz’s Deli or a stroll and meal in Chinatown.

All 22 individually decorated rooms feature free Wi-Fi and pillowtop beds. Guests can enjoy deep soaking tubs, and other standard amenities include iPod docks, refrigerators and TVs. There’s a 24-hour front desk to give tour and ticket assistance and guests get free use of a nearby fitness center. They have trundle beds for traveling families.

Guests also get a free continental breakfast in the morning. The hotel offers privacy and a sanctuary to families who need a bit of space and comfort in what is now considered the hippest part of town.

Good hostel

Very quiet hostel and a great location. Very close to Delancey subway. The dorm was clean and all of the people were polite. Thanks to the staff. The Internet was good and the cafe within the hotel had good pastries.

Lack of effort

This hotel was clean and has a great location but their advertising was deceptive. They have hostel/dormitory type bunk beds in each room for 6 adults but call it a private room. When we arrived, we were in a room with another couple we were traveling with, but also with two other travelers unknown to us. There is only one bathroom and when it was occupied by one of the other travelers for a long time, they did not offer any other customer bathrooms until we made quite an issue of it and insisted that it be resolved. There was no concern of accomodating us as paying customers, We will not be back!
