I am a single, young female who needed a clean, safe place to stay for a month when I first moved to Birmingham for work. When I checked in, I was told exactly how much it would cost, and there were no hidden charges when I checked out. The room was very clean in appearance and housekeeping cleaned the room once a week, and made sure I knew what day they were coming. All the basics were provided in the room to make my stay comfortable, and the staff were friendly and available to answer any questions I had. The location is pretty easy to get to off HWY 280, and is not in a bad or noisy part of town. I never felt unsafe. I would highly recommend to anyone needing an extended temporary place to stay.
Do not do business with this hotel. The customer service is horrible, they have deceiving refund/cancellation policies, and they will not respond to your inquiries. While planning travel to Florida, I reserved a room here online. Within less than 1 hour of making the reservation, my plans changed, so I requested a refund/cancellation. I was told I could not receive any refund even though the online reservation was made over 2 days in advance and I called within 1 hour of booking the room. Ultimately, I did not stay at this hotel, but I was aware, to my great dissatisfaction, that I would still be charged for 1 room. When I returned from vacation I noticed my credit card had been charged for 2 rooms. I had to call multiple numbers, leave several messages (voicemail and internet), and call IHG hotel customer service to dispute the charge for the second room and then had to have a case opened to get a response. Finally, the manger did call me and reluctantly agreed to refund the second charge, but insisted that I had reserved 2 rooms. Buyer BEWARE-deceiving rates, fees, no refunds/cancellations, poor customer service, and getting charged double! With all of the hotel options around, do yourself a favor and stay someplace else!
