For luxurious accommodations on the Upper East Side of New York City, families can stay at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel. The 188 guestrooms and suites offer standard amenities like free Wi-Fi, TVs with DVD players, fully-stocked mini bars, bathrobes, deluxe bath amenities, and 24-hour room service. Accommodation styles range from Superior Rooms to Central Park Tower Suites. Suites feature larger accommodations, with separate living and sleeping areas, plus a full kitchen and superior window views. All rooms come with king or twin beds. Connecting rooms are also available for guests who need extra space.
For families with infants and children, the Rose Buds for Children program helps to make stays even more comfortable. Prior to arrival, families can request an array of services and amenities, including skincare products, wireless baby monitors, cribs and linens, baby-proofing services, child-size robes and slippers, changing tables, bottle warmers, infant bath tubs, babysitting and children’s menus for in-room dining and at onsite restaurants. Seasonally, families can request a special Madeline’s Tea service for children, too.
The Carlyle has four restaurants and lounges onsite. The Carlyle Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert daily, and a special brunch on Sundays. Cafe Carlyle is the hotel’s premier supper club that features performances by well known singers, comedians and entertainers while guests dine. Children of all ages are welcome in Cafe Carlyle, though they must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21. The Gallery serves lunch, afternoon tea and dinner daily, and is known for its pastries and traditional tea sandwiches. Bemelmans Bar is open for snacks and light meals daily, with spirits and entertainment for adults every night.
When in need of relaxation and rejuvenation, guests can visit the Sense Spa, Yves Durif Salon or the fitness center.
The Carlyle accepts pets under 25 pounds and offers furry friends beds, bowls, treats and spring water. Dog-walking services are also on offer. Pets are welcome for an additional fee of $50 per night.
Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at noon.

Not your typical NYC hotel. Warm, helpful and pleasant staff. We typically stay in Chelsea or Soho but warmed up quickly to the area. Looking forward to going back. We have found our next go to hotel.
I knew of The Carlyle's storied history, but had never stayed there because I perceived it as an "older" hotel. I was so wrong! I used an American Express Platinum card promotion to book my first, 3-night stay at the Carlyle due to its location near my destination. The lobby is still a glorious marble with the traditional fixtures, and the Café and Bar have retained all of their traditional décor and somewhat formal, 5-star service. However, my newly renovated room (1107) was light, bright, and the fixtures and decor were modern and perfectly laid out. Everything was so elegant and well-thought-out, I could easily have stayed for a week or more. We also found the service was extraordinary - friendly and warm but still suited to the hotel's elegance and history. The Front Desk, old-world elevator operators, housekeeping staff, and restaurant staff were all fantastic - genuinely interested in us as well as in upholding the Carlyle's service. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but the menu included traditional, healthy, AND fast alternatives that suited all lifestyles. My Amex promotion included a break on spa services, which were highly professional (my eyebrows have never looked so good :-) Lastly, the hotel's location right in the heart of the Madison Ave shopping district (and acccessible to the 77th Street subway station) can't be beat - it's both super-quiet and super-accessible. You can be comfortable here whether you're on a business trip or casual vacation - I will definitely be back.
