Reviews

Wouldn't stay in 1631 unit again.

by Stan L

I hear these are individually owned condos that they rent out, which explains some of the good reviews that we saw. I can only review room 1631 which we stayed in and it needed TLC

I would highly recommend to check individual room reviews when possible when choosing to stay here.

First the bad
In need of some serious updating. Furniture was very old and looked like thrift shop furniture. Carpet was ripped in multiple spots. Actually had cut toe on carpet tack strips because carpet was frayed so much at the transition from carpet to tile at kitchen. Walls needed painted and some minor holes needed fixed.
Ceiling needed painted. Caulking needed replaced in shower. No water pressure in shower. Balcony needed cleaned, looked like people had spilled good and just kinda wiped it up. Curtains at balcony had a big rip. Something funky with the living room TV, had verticle lines in the picture.

Now for the good
People were friendly. Location is good. Parking garage had plenty of room (located across the street). Had a pool, lazy river, and hot tub. We had an issue with water draining out of tub, called front desk and they came right up and took care of it.

Anniversary week

by Bluealienfox

Spent 7 days in the resort for our wedding anniversary. The resort was great only problems was a lack luster housekeeping and they set up a wine tasting and tour on a day they were closed. Would definitely recommend this resort to.others.

Family Activities

Although the hotel doesn't offer a children's program or onsite activities the beach is just steps away, and there are several pools for kids to splash around in. Kids can play in the indoor and outdoor pools, while mom and dad enjoy the warm sun on the poolside sundeck. Grab a tube and float along in the lazy river, or take your little tykes over to the zero-entry kiddie pool. A boardwalk from the pool area offers families direct beach access. Spend the day by the ocean searching for shells, or bring the kids' buckets and shovels and play in the sand. The lifeguards offer umbrella and beach chair rentals, but I would recommend bringing your own. If the family gets sick of spending the day at the beach or pool, there are plenty of other activities throughout Myrtle Beach that will keep you busy. From amusement parks and water parks to horseback riding, water sports and miniature golf, Myrtle Beach has it all.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans Baseball
Treat the family and come celebrate America's favorite pastime at the BB&T Coastal Field. Home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans minor league baseball team, families spend the afternoon watching the game and enjoy plenty of food and drinks. A club playground for kids is located on the first base side behind the picnic area. After every home game, kids can run the bases with the team mascot. For younger children parents may join them on the field if needed. Exclusive behind the scenes tours of the ballpark are also available, but advance reservations are required.

Amusement Parks & Water Parks
Myrtle Beach amusement parks and water parks offer thrill seeking families endless amounts of fun. Located just a few blocks away from the hotel, the Family Kingdom Amusement Park is one family vacation experience you wouldn't want to miss! With more than 30 rides, families can ride the exhilarating wooden roller coaster, zip through the air on the Scrambler and Tilt-A-Whirl and freefall 110 feet on the Slingshot Drop Zone. For smaller tykes kiddie swings, coasters, 4x4 big trucks and bumper cars are also available. Across the street from the amusement park, families can cool off at the Family Kingdom Water Park with speed slides, lazy rivers, kiddie slides and children's play areas.

Families who are looking for even more adventure should visit the Wild Water & Wheels Theme Park. Kids will love this 16-acre interactive water and theme park. Plummet down speed slides, dip and twist through body and tube slides and relax in the lazy river and wave pool. For younger children there is an interactive play area and activity pool. Families will also enjoy a variety of carnival rides, bumper boats, and Go-Karts. Play a round of mini golf on the 18-hole course or try your skill on the racetrack with Go-Karts and speed racers.

Mini Golf
Also known as the "golf capital of the world," Myrtle Beach has more then enough courses for you and your family to play a round on the green. You can find one on almost every corner, so get ready to put your skills to the test. From high sea adventures with pirates to gold mining voyages, families will love each unique themed course. Choosing just one will be the hard part.

Myrtle Beach State Park
Boasting a beautiful beach, fishing pier and miles of trails for hiking and biking, the Myrtle Beach State Park offers a variety of outdoor activities for families. Located in the heart of the Grand Strand, this diverse park offers the perfect retreat for families. Learn about the natural resources of the park and check out saltwater aquariums and live reptiles at the nature center. Spend some time on the beach, go fishing for mackerel and flounder and end the day with a relaxing picnic on the grounds.

Water Sports
Whether you enjoy relaxing or are looking for a thrill on the water, there is something for everyone. From banana boat rides to dolphin watching tours and sailboat rentals, Myrtle Beach has it all. Fly high above the ocean on parasailing adventures, kayak through the bay, or zip through the water on speed boating tours. Jet ski rentals, windsurfing and scuba diving are also available. Families can also enjoy a variety of beach activities including body boarding, surfing and skim boarding.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras
The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi access in all rooms as well as cable TV with free HBO channels.

Complimentary parking is available for all hotel guests in the parking garage across the street from the hotel. For those who don't want to walk across the street, there is parking adjacent to the hotel for a fee.

Yes you are on vacation, but for those who don't want to forget their daily workout, the hotel features an onsite fitness center. With treadmills, bikes and other universal machines this small fitness center can accommodate all types of workout regimes.

Getting There & Around
With plenty of airlines flying out of the Myrtle Beach International Airport, getting there is the easy part. In a great location, the Best Western Carolinian Beach Resort is just minutes away from the airport. If your family is flying into Myrtle Beach, I would highly recommend getting a rental car -- although several car rental agencies, taxi's and limo services are available to take you where you need to be. The Coast RTA offers local bus services, with transportation to and from major thoroughfares and neighboring towns. Bus times and stops may be limited.

The Art of Smart Timing
For families planning to visit Myrtle Beach, the summer months are the best time to vacation. Boasting gorgeous weather and a wide selection of activities and attractions, families can enjoy all Myrtle Beach has to offer. Several amusement parks and family attractions open specifically for the summer months and will close right after Labor Day. Hotel rates will be at their highest from the end of May through the end of August.

Families looking for a more budget-friendly time to travel should consider vacationing in September, or early spring, when hotel rates drop significantly. Families can still enjoy the warm weather and beach activities as well as a variety of other attractions.

For Mom and Dad
Pine Lakes Country Club
With a historical and elegant golf experience, the Pine Lake Country Club offers one of the best greens in Myrtle Beach. The recently remodeled course developed from the original 27-hole layout to an exquisite 18-hole course. With the addition of two new holes accommodating the new entrance, many of the original holes have stayed the same, preserving its historical integrity. Spend the day on the green and grab a bite to eat at the Pine Lakes Grill. Both breakfast and lunch are served daily as well as happy hour specials starting at 5 p.m.

New York Prime
Perfect for a special night out for the two of you, the New York Prime restaurant offers delicious meals and great service just a few blocks away from the hotel. A little on the pricey side, this restaurant features only the best cuts of beef, salads, appetizers and side dishes. For starters the oysters Rockefeller or jumbo lump crab meat are must haves. Steaks include the New York strip, bone-in rib steak and the center cut filet. Sea bass and live lobster entrees are other available dishes. Side dishes include steak cut fries, baked potato, sauteed onions and mashed potatoes.
